Hola!

Ok, I know it's been ages since I last submitted anything but I promise to try and really take control of the creative aspect of my life.

I have missed dA sooooo much! So I really hope y'all like my new photos that are still being both updated and edited!

The last year has been C R A Z Y! to say the least, so I appologise to all of those who like my work and want to see more of it.

This time last year I finally did my African Adventure! I started from Kenya, then on to Malawi and Zambia, the edge of Zimbabwe, then finally I ended up in South Africa. My experiences were absolutely mind-blowing and I learnt soooo much about myself and life during my amazing travels. I promised to all those who I stayed with to put these pictures of 'Africa' up to show the true meaning behind the continent which is one of beauty, peace and freedom.

For many, one tends to say that Africa economically is a corrupt and primitive society which in turn is nothing more than an impoverished state. For all those who believe this, I solute you in your ignorance. Although poverty and corruption is undeniably rife throughout Africa many people within the continent and all over our globe are helping to stop such unhuminatarian crimes that we in the western or richer regions of the earth witness on a daily basis through forms of media such as newpapers, TV and Youtube.

Point is; no matter how much we try to ignore it, or how much we believe that a society is far too 'damaged' for repair (famously quoted by 'The Economist' in the early 90s) the problem still remains the same. Unless we, not as a nation or society or an ethic or even a country, start to unite as one, NOTHING will be done.

From my travels I have learnt so much from some of the most friendliest and facsinating people that will stay with me until I die that I know Africa is worth fighting for. Of course some are going to find their experiences of Africa different, but I must stress that every country within Africa is unique and it is OUR duty as being part of this world to make a difference.

Within a third-world order we can learn that the gaps between our civilisation and theirs are not so different, and that we as people are ultimately one.

Anyway! I hope you like my new upcoming photos!

Ok, I may have been gone for a while but guess what? Yes that's right, I'm back. I promise never to cheat on my fellow deviants EVER again with crappy fb!
So, where do I begin? Ok, let's start from scratch......

Year 2009 - 2010

I must say that during these years I have taken few photos. This was due to my focus on things that I now find unimportant. You know, things such as cheap alcohol and parties and raving and so on. I call this my nineteen year old stage. I may be only twenty now but I've already gotten over it!
I worked a lot harder at uni, that year I actually attended class! My project was about women in the middle-east, which has prompted me to do politics for my masters next year. This really is about it!

(Important bit) late 2010 - present day

Holly (wildhysteria) left me to go to Japan. Even though she was in Oxford and I in London I was always comforted to know she was only a £12.00 return journey away. This section really is dedicated to her. Today I found out that an earthquake hit Japan. Automatically scared (and yes a little dramatic) I thought of Holly and I went on fb to find that she was ok and that I was indeed being over dramtic. Today has made me realise how deverstating any kind of disaster can be. I really would not know what to do without you Holly so please, to all those who have ever lost or been hurt by something as disasterous as this, my heart really goes out to you. Thank you Holly for being my best friend <3
Time changes all the time. Lessons Iv'e learnt in my third year degree is that we all have to take some kind of responsibility for our actions. We have to understand or try to understand that we're not here forever. However, our footsteps are. What ever we do, be it today, tomorrow, next week, next year it will impact later on in future life.  So the point here is try to always be compassionate, dare to venture word 'love' more often, do something that scares you every day or something different, opt for that different brand of tea or fruit..... certain paths are never known, so the next time you see a loved one, tell them how much they mean to you :)
To present day not much has changed in my life. I met some great people the last time I visited home in the Canaries. I already miss them very much <3 I have only three weeks lefts of classes and then I'm COMPLETELY on my own :( I have started looking for jobs, apprenterships and internships so wish me luck!
I also (as you all know) am a director of an amazing charity called AWF. We operate in four different countries. Argentina, Canaries, Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka. We aim to enhance the lives of people trapped within the web of poverty and society. Next year, our hope is to build another centre in Zambia. I'm actually hoping to be going out there in a few weeks so I have been working VERY hard to try and find the money. But I can't WAIT! Please please please go to www.facebook.com/profile.php?i…
or
www.whalenation.org
and join our site. We do very cheap volunteering work so if anyone is extensivly interested in volunteering then please please join our site.

All my love,

Rebecca Adele

Ok.... Lets update this bitch!

Over the last few months what have I done? In all honesty, not a lot. I've had my ups and downs. I've been a little ill recently so I've been travelling back and forth to the doctors. I hate hospitals. The smell, the aura, the look, the buildings... everything. And to top everything up on the health department I have a horrid cold! Apart from that... other... happier things!!...
I've moved house I now live on the borders of Kent/London which is all good fun. I live with a great guy who's a real friend :) Although I do miss Holly and Nadia so much. Hopefully I'll see them soon. Me and Nadia have had some great nights out. Central and SE London. The best we feel was Greenwich pub crawling so if anyone out there's planning on a london Pub Crawl, Greenwich is THE place!
Seriously we did some serious booze and nacho drowning there! Good times.
I left my old appartment on the 27th of June. It was so sad. So many things that I went through in that appartment; the tears, the joy, the Friends Skins watchin'. The smiley and pizza eating. The card plain'. Soo much. Not only that, moving into that appartment in London when I was 18 was the symbol of my inderpendence. It meant a lot too me. So a chapter of my life closed and opened a new!
LOVE!
No I havn't fallen in love and no I havn't had great sex! But the point is just love it's self. To lead a perfect life happy and content cannot be achieved without love. I have realised something so obvious. I am happy when I'm around the people I love. So I'm in a mission; To fall completely head over healed, hopelessly and most ardently passionately in love. Let me picture you the perfect guy!... Has to be from a country that's mysterious and intriguing. Green or Brown eyes. smart, in their 20s, Lives in London, I LOVE public school or North London accents! Brown dark hair, Olive skin is a plus :P haha hairy chest, DOMINANT!!!, never let's go, able to argue.. well!, funny, relaxed, honest, loving, giving, and true. So if anyone's out there wh fits this discription.. I want your babies!! haha
Until then I'm very happy with my wife and a cute guy who I live with ;)
I've had a great life. I've had the best morale of lessons. Love and strength. Be strong, answer truth, if you're knocked back down.. get back up! Never be afraid to fail and most of all love and lead a happy life :)
I hope you don't think I've gone mad! Well I am slightly but you know... it happens! I really like this journal, very sweet. Dont you think? Anyway... Hope you like my recent works. They were taken in Austria when I went on a skiing holiday with the folks. Also I will upload some soon of the Bob Dylan concert I saw. He's old but a truly awesome guy!
Finally!! I'm going now so...if you're read this...I'm proud of you!!! You have the will and strength of an iron Ox!
Much Love, Rebecca.

Hello!

I am sorry for not being on DA lately :( The truth is; I have been too lazy and yet ironically busy. It's been over six months now that I have lived in London. Great place. Great culture. Great party. 2008 brought and taught me many things. Some things like love (as always right) my last true relationship taught me to be strong and most important of all; to live and love every second of your life. Truth was another thing. I found out how important it was to say how you felt at ALL times of your life. That way you can never go wrong right? Many things, especially those of relationships taught me who and what I am.
My sister left to travel her "world oyster!" in July. She is currently in Canada I expect having a great time. Never the less, I miss her so much. Me and Gemma never had a good relationship, she the older sister to a self-indulgent timid cancarian, me! And she is a gorgeous, dizzy, full-of-life kind of girl. I never realised how much she actually meant to me until she left and I want her to know how right she actually was. As for time, truth and love I finally got back with the man I built my dreams around. Things didn't turn out how I expected. A few months our so called "turbulent but strong" love came to it's final holt.
Have you ever walked away from an argument that in some way, shape or form has changed you? Have you ever wished you could of told someone something that you never told them before? Well I have many of these clinging nostalgias. The main one? I wished I could of told him how I really felt. I wished I could have told him to stop resenting me because I'm a middle class English girl. I knew what it was like to be overly idealistic, come on I'm half Irish, we invented the idea! But I wished he could of believed in another dream that had me painted in the picture. I didn’t love him because he was rich and that he defeated all the odds and possibilities that most people turned their noses too. I didn’t even love him for the way he made me feel, the rare good times when we connected. I didn’t even love him for that. I loved him because I simply did, and that when I pushed him away I wanted to scream "I'M HERE LOOK AT ME, JUST TAKE ME!" but I didn’t I let things live and let live. Not a regret just a painful nostalgia. I also would of loved to been able to say "I miss you" rather than "she is right for you, I hope you both will be very happy together" *smiles* bad times.
Ok, seriously? Other than that? Nothing. Maybe a few things, I party, I club I even have sex now and then, I write, I paint and I even edit.. but nothing. Nothing fills this huge big big ass piece of blank paper that has "Rebecca's Life” carved on it. I have fond memories of old and new friends that make me smile even when it doesn't seem possible. But other than that? Not much. I never expected the streets of London to be painted with gold. I was never looking for that. I just wanted to thrive :) I guess the lesson is wants and hopes don't come by letting destiny be destiny. if you want something; get the fuck up and get it. I'm still at uni, I love and hate it. Creative writing allows me to look at different aspects of my writing, I love that. English allows me to read the same books I read for A-level! hehe funny now, but it's all good.
As for DA, the bitch is back! And as I now have paid £5.55 for the subscription I will be sticking around for a while......

A huge thankyou to all my friends who have supported and cared for me over the years. You are all part of me that I shall carry around with me until the day I die! If you're reading this Amy or negative others...stop laughhing!! Tis rude!

Thankyou so much

Best Wishes

Ok, you would of thought 8 weeks gone by since my last journal I would of done something new and exciting!? Well guess what, no! So like always I've had to indulge on thought! ...... programmes I have watched have inspired me to do some major thinking into ideas for my next photography pieces. So here go's.....

- S K I N S -

I have to say after watching the second series it was one of the most renowned and well produced ebautiful pieces of drama I have ever seen. The art, the acting, the plot was all so wonderfully produced and beautifully presented. "A real scope for the imagination"! If anyone id debating or thinking about watching skins, seriously it is definatley worth a watch.

Ok maybe you're now thinking what the f@#k! But seriously I really like SATC. The characters, representation of New York, a life in a modern womans world. I find it absolutley fabulous that women are portrayed as powerful, modern and new able to converse the patriarchal norm into matriarch. Im no feminist (although I am a woman!) but I truly believe sex and the city highlights major factors and elements in a females life. The culture and life style portrayed is glamorous and profoundly sexy. From the well kept upper class woman, Carlotte to Sex Godess Samantha, A real variety is portrayed within glamour that happens in the spot light of New York's glamorous life style. It sooo worth a watch, very funny, sassy and ofcourse sexy :P

Ok Tv series are not a major in anyones life I believe so lets talk about more adventerous stuff! For intance, soon I will go to Sri Lanka and hopefully India. I have mentioned this for quite a while but it will be a first time go for me and I'm more than excited.  Then I shall attend university in London to study General English and Creative writing. This is just a Degree though so I hope to study atleast until my Masters. First of all I must revise for my A-Levels, some of you may know my English Lit isn't coming along very well, however I'm delighted to tell you that I a expected good grades in the other two!!

For more general things.... ummmm I really like to update my journal, I love to look back on them to when time were different ; it's very nostalgiac and beautiful. I hope I will enjoy reding this in years to come and know that I have changed in A. Person and B. style. I have a very "nice" life I believe smetimes stressful with many arguments with my mother!!..But apart from all this....nice. I look forward to what my life brings me and what I can bring to life. I hope you alll feel the same.  I am still writing my 2 books the classic one is near done and ready to be sent to the publishers. My African book is still in prgress. I intend to use DA to inspire me, if anyone has any ideas then please, please do tell me so.

oooo some more good news. My camera is due back within the next two weeks, so i'll be updating some much needed pics!! However, let me show you some awsome work by a few awesome artists........

This guy truly has one of the most beautiful original gallery I have ever seen in my life. All his models are so beautiful is makes me pea green with envy!! Borissov can capture what ever he wants and make the rest of the world stare in awe. When I first came across his gallery I was ashamed to go back to my own, however, he has inspired many ideas and concepts within all aspects of my work. I think it is majorly necessary for any Deviant to look at his gallery, there is just some truly, inspiring, remarkable, genius work.
